THE OMAN EXPEDITION

An Expedition of a Lifetime

In the heart of the Sultanate of Oman, we traverse the largest sand desert in the world as pioneers along the border with Saudi Arabia, without mobile coverage and far from any civilization. Tailored to the lunar calendar, you will experience the "Empty Quarter"  and crossing of the highest sand dunes ever measured and witness a night sky of unparalleled beauty – An experience you will not have a second time.

It’s an Expedition!

The expedition which you will never forget.

The journey consists of several stages.

Breathtaking mountain landscapes around the Alila Jabal Akhdar - overcome your fear of heights and master the Via Ferrata.

From the "Canvas Club North Camp" base camp, you will then trek through the desert for several days. Far away from civilization and surrounded only by sand dunes several meters high. Profound conversations around the campfire await you.

The Rub Al Khali is your home for the coming nights.

The desert finale is at the Canvas Club South Camp. From there, you will spend some wonderful days at the Alila Hinu Bay. Dive to the sunken shipwreck and watch the wild dolphins.

ARE YOU READY

Unique Hotels

The silence and the complete darkness makes it possible to see things that normally don’t come to your attention. Especially the stars that can be identified at night are beyond anybody’s imagination.
— Richard
‘The absolute silence is something unique. Just the sound of the wind shaping the dunes.’
— Johannes

What our explorers say:

I felt like we were following the footsteps of the original explorers into the area. Pathways into the unknown.
— Sean
The sand dunes are tall and majestic begging to be climbed and explored, they are the moguls of the desert to be hopped over and around just like skiing down a long mountain run.
— Nick
There are plenty of tracks for the beginners and of course enough adventure for the levels above. The tracks can be properly used as escapes when the group need to exit the Rub al Khali desert.
— Roderick
